“Hannah’s advice has been invaluable to me while editing my two manuscripts. She’s a complete professional, and I trust her to provide me with frank yet compassionate critiques of my work, as well as concrete suggestions for fixing issues and constructing a solid story. I would highly recommend her services to anyone interested in planning or improving a writing project.” – Rita D.
“Hannah Mary McKinnon is the plot whisperer. I struggled for months with my plot outline and was in despair when I reached out to her. Thanks to Hannah’s insightful questions and suggestions, my plot transformed, without undoing all the work I had done up to that point. After streamlining my plot outline, the actual writing of the manuscript was much easier; Hannah undoubtedly saved me months of fruitless work. I will happily consult with her again in the future when I need help!” – Corinne Clark
“The time Hannah spent with me did more to move my mind deeper into my characters, deeper into the story, deeper into the theme of the novel, than anything I had done up to that time. Her guidance, suggestions and advice helped me with re-plotting the weak spots, and realize opportunities to strengthen my characters and build more believable tension filled plot lines. Her own experience with the writing process has provided Hannah with a clear cut approach of how to work through these dilemmas and her willingness to share her own methods provided me with the tools I needed to proceed. I came away full of renewed enthusiasm, much needed confidence and the tools to continue the process at home. And Hannah’s encouragement and support was not only evident during our session but followed afterward in her ongoing support. She has been instrumental in helping me persevere when I was most doubting my ability to see this book through to the end. ” – Dale Margery Rutherford
“It’s amazing how much guidance and information this woman can pack into an hour! I appreciated getting the ins and outs of her unique way of plotting a book – it sure resonated with me. Hannah’s guidance on character development was valuable as well. I liked the down to earth discussion, person-to-person, like I was talking with a friend. And I really appreciated the way she determined my exact needs up front, so we could focus on exactly what I wanted from the very beginning. After finishing, I was confident enough to begin writing the book I’d ‘somewhat’ laid out beforehand. And I’ll definitely be back for more!” – Tya Colby

Let me tell you a story…
You could say my husband and I have never been particularly conventional. We met on the Internet by accident in 1999, married within ten weeks and had three sons in sixteen months. When our first-born was ten weeks old I went back to work full time and my husband became a stay-at-home-dad, both of us garnering a multitude of strange looks (it was 2003, after all).
Before becoming an author I spent over twenty years in the corporate world, and at the highest point of my career was the CEO of a European IT recruitment company. But I’ve had my share of failure, too. From an unsuccessful start-up company that shattered my spirit, to soul-searching which direction my life should take, to digesting a multitude of agent and publisher rejections—I know how hard it can be to keep going, and the terror of switching careers and following your passion.
